Omar Alsebeyi is the Deputy CEO of Etihad Rail Freight. In his current role, Omar is focused on expanding Etihad Rail’s commercial footprint through innovative business development strategies. With over 15 years of experience, Omar has held pivotal roles across sales, project management and marketing, demonstrating strong leadership and expertise in driving business growth.

Previously serving as the Executive Director of Etihad Rail’s Commercial Sector, Omar was instrumental in fostering international investment and development for Etihad Rail, as well as advancing the UAE’s National Railway Programme. His tenure was marked by a deep expertise in finance and relationship building to optimise the company’s planning and operational frameworks, business modeling and marketing strategies. Omar was crucial in engaging with regulators, partners, and customers, contributing significantly to Etihad Rail’s strategic objectives.  

Prior to joining Etihad Rail, Omar played a critical role in the finance department of the Tourism Development and Investment Company (TDIC) in Abu Dhabi, where he was responsible for funding landmark tourism destinations, such as the Louvre, to enhance the reputation and tourism potential of Abu Dhabi in foreign markets.

In addition to his current role, Omar also serves as a board member of RailDirect, a joint venture company between Etihad Rail and DHL Global Forwarding, which provides cross-border freight solutions. A graduate from the Anwar Gargash Diplomatic Academy, Omar holds a master’s degree in diplomacy and international Relations alongside a second Master’s degree from the Canadian University of Dubai in Financial Business Administration.
