FIDIC Contracts Committee Member (Former Vice Chair), International Federation of Consulting Engineers (FIDIC)

Mahmoud is a member (former vice chair) of the International Federation of Consulting Engineers (FIDIC) Contracts Committee (CC) and acts as the CC Liaison for Task Group 14 in charge of drafting a new standard form of contract for offshore wind farms. He was a co-author of FIDIC’s 2021 Second Edition of the Green Book and a friendly reviewer of FIDIC’s 2017 Fifth Edition of the White Book and Second Edition of the Rainbow Suite of Contracts. 

Mahmoud possesses hands-on expertise in drafting, adapting and negotiating bespoke and standard forms of contracts. His career journey comprises work experience in Egypt, France, USA and the Middle East. He has been working for Dolphin Energy Limited in Abu Dhabi, UAE since 2005 and previously held different senior positions with other employers.

He is a qualified Engineer with over 30 years of diverse experience in oil and gas; power generation and distribution; architectural; and research projects. Mahmoud developed cumulative, cradle to grave experience in the procurement and contracts management fields encompassing pre and post award activities including settlement of claims and close-out for many large-scale projects. 

Mahmoud has been engaged in a variety of activities and held different positions while working for international companies including main contractors executing Design and Build, BOOT and EPC projects; consultants advising governmental agencies and providing EPCM services for multi-prime power generation projects; and employers/owners. 

Mahmoud heavily participates in professional pro bono activities including contributing to updating international standard forms of contracts and regularly speaks at contracts and dispute resolution conferences.
