Dr. Leila Ismail
Leila Ismail is Associate Professor of Computer Science and Software Engineering at the College of IT and Founder of the Intelligent Distributed Computing and Systems (INDUCE) Lab, with over 20 years of leadership in AI and distributed systems. As Founding Director of UAEU’s INDUCE Lab, she secured multi-million-dirham research grants, publishes 100+ articles, and develops transformative curricula. Her expertise spans AI and Data Science, Edge–Cloud–IoT architectures, Blockchain and Security, and Big Data Analytics for Smart City applications. A Visiting Associate Professor at the University of Melbourne’s CLOUDS Lab, Leila drives international collaborations in smart transportation, healthcare, and sustainability. She is ranked among the world’s top 2 % most-cited scientists and has shaped policy through IEEE editorial and conference leadership.
